BJP slams Kejriwal for demanding inclusion of Jats in OBC list

BJP slams Kejriwal for demanding inclusion of Jats in OBC list

New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) BJP on Thursday slammed AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal for writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding to include the Jat community in the OBC list.
The BJP said Kejriwal has done nothing in the last 10 years of AAP rule in Delhi but his demand is not less than a "political stunt".
Addressing a press conference here, Parvesh Verma, BJP candidate pitted against Kejriwal from New Delhi Constituency in the next month Assembly election said, "We will form our government in the National Capital this time.
"Today, he remembered the Jats. Had AAP done any things for the Jats, they need not have remembered Jats just 25 days before election".
Earlier, the former Chief Minister in a letter to Modi demanded the Centre to include the Jat community in the list of Other Backward Classes (OBC).
Furthermore, Kejriwal accused the Centre of betraying the Jat community over the last 10 years.
The AAP Chief also claimed that the Jat community in Rajasthan have been granted OBC reservation benefits under the central list while those in Delhi are denied these benefits at colleges, universities, or institutions of the Central Government.

Parvesh Verma stated that the people of rural Delhi are outraged by Kejriwal’s statements, and they have unanimously decided to vote against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), be it farmers, Jats, or Gurjars.
He said, “This is the same Arvind Kejriwal who found the Jats repulsive, who refused to let them and the people of rural Delhi enter his house. But now, as election approach, and rural Delhi – be it Jats, Gurjars, Yadavs, Tyagis, or Rajputs – stand united against him, the AAP National Convenor suddenly remembered the Jats.”
