New Delhi, Jul 26 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tributes and saluted the soldiers of the country on the occasion of the 21st Kargil Vijay Diwas.
He remembered the sacrifice of the soldiers who laid their lives for the country's pride in the war that went on for about two months back in the year 1999, and ended on July 26 with nation's victory after re-claiming outposts that were captured by Pakistan.
Taking to twitter Mr Shah said, "Kargil Vijay Diwas signifies India's self respect , valour and steadfast leadership. I bow and pay respect to the brave soldiers of the country who with their valour and courage drove out enemies from the difficult to reach hills of the sector and waved the Tri-Color back on the peaks'.
