New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) Enforcement Directorate(ED) on Saturday said that it has conducted searches on the residential premises of Agnelo C Lobo, former Attorney of Comunidade of Serula and his brother .
Besides, raids were also carried out residences of former official of Communidade of Serula Reginaldo Lobo,former clerk Joseph D’Sa and Rajesh Suhas Verenkar, under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act,2002(PMLA) in illegal allotment of plots as well as illegal acquisition of land belonging to Comunidade of Serula in Goa.
Several incriminating documents and records relating to the illegal allotment, acquisition of plots, land belonging to the Comunidade of Serula have been seized, the ED officials said.
“ The incriminating documents include old blank Indian stamp papers of 1960s, old blank papers having Portuguese stamps used for making forged documents and Deeds of Sale used for illegal acquisition of land belonging to Comunidade of Serula”, the probe agency officials said, adding that the documents seized also include old registers belonging to the office of Administrator of Comunidades, Bardez, Government of Goa which were being used for the purpose of illegal allotment of plots.
The PMLA Investigations were initiated by the agency on the basis of FIRs registered by Goa Police Crime Branch. And as per the said FIRs, the members of Managing Committee of Comunidade of Serula were involved in illegal allotment of plots by fraudulently citing and using duplicate file numbers pertaining to files of Offices of various Administrators of Comunidades and Gazette Notifications of Government of Goa, thereby cheating the Comunidade of Serula and other authorities.
ED is conducting further investigation in coordination with the Crime Branch, Goa Police and has already attached 7,975 sq.mts land situated at Socorro worth around Rs 3.19 crore that allegedly belongs to the Sandeep Vazarkar, also a former attorney of the Serula comunidade Agnelo Lobo and other members of the Vazarkar family in July under section 5 of PMLA.
