New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) In a major crackdown, Delhi Police Crime Branch on Sunday busted an interstate cricket betting racket at Preet Vihar and arrested 8 bookies and two others.
The accused were operating during the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Dubai yesterday.
The police recovered 10 laptops, 38 mobile phones, 3 LED televisions, 3 internet routers, 2 dongles, 2 Recorders, 5 diaries, calculators, setup box and specially designed 2 briefcases carrying 21 mobiles to hold and charge mobile phones continuously while taking bets have been recovered. The gang had already taken bets worth more than Rs 50 lakh.
