CBI apprehends two absconders in WB post-poll violence case

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Two absconders, including a minor, have been apprehended in connection with a case related to post-poll violence and other offences in West Bengal, said CBI on Friday.
CBI had registered the case on August 25 on the orders of Calcutta High Court after six days and took over the investigation of the case, earlier registered at Kotwali Police Station in Nadia against 10 accused and unknown others on the allegations that the accused along with unknown others assembled and broke into the house of the complainant with weapons like sharp dagger, tube well pipes, iron rod and firearms.
They allegedly ransacked the house of the complainant and dragged out the complainant's husband. One of the accused allegedly shot him at his head due to which, he collapsed drenching in blood. The victim was taken to Shakti Nagar district hospital, where he was declared dead. A chargesheet was filed by CBI on September 10 against the 15 accused including the arrested accused, said the agency.

New Delhi, April 25 (UNI) In a bid to encourage passengers to exercise their democratic right to vote in the parliamentary elections, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Thursday launched a campaign for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls, scheduled to be held on April 26.
