COVID-19 cases cross 3000 mark in India, 75 deaths, 212 cured so far

New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus in the country crossed the 3000 mark on Saturday evening, with the total number now standing at 3072, as per the government data.
Active COVID-19 cases are now 2784 across the country, while the death toll has increased to 75.
Seven more deaths have been reported since morning, as per the government data, taking the total to 75.
Total number of case that have been cured and discharged are now 212, according to the Health ministry, while one person has migrated so far.
On Saturday evening the health ministry had said that out of the total cases of the deadly virus so far reported in the country, about 1023 are related to those, who either came in contact with, or attended the religious congregation, organised by Tablighi Jamaat at the Nizamuddin Markaz last month.
Addressing the press here, Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said that 1023 positive cases related to
Tablighi Jamaat have been reported from 17 states and Union Territories.
These include Delhi, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Andaman & Nicobar, Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh.
So far, maximum 490 cases have been reported from Maharashtra with 24 casualties, followed now by Delhi, where the numbers have spiked since the past two days, now standing at 445 with six deaths reported so far and Tamil Nadu is at number three, with a total of 411 cases and two deaths.
Rajasthan is also among the states that has witnessed recent spike in the number of positive cases in just past two or three days, with the number now at 200.
