New Delhi, Jan 11 (UNI) A head of the forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections, former Congress MLA Arvind Khanna, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Gurdeep Singh Gosha and two other prominent leaders from Punjab on Tuesday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party headquarters here.
The another leaders who joined the party is Kanvar Singh Tohda, the grandson of late Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra and former Amritsar Market Committee Chairman Dharamveer Sareen.
The leaders joined the party, in the presence of state-in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and other senior leaders here at party headquarters.
Welcoming them into the party, Shekhawat, said, the way leaders from other political parties in Punjab are joining the BJP is a clear indication that our party is strengthening at grass roots.
With the election around the corner, BJP is trying to expand its base in Punjab, by roping in leaders from various political parties, including the Congress.
