BJP Natl Executive meet gets underway with office bearers' conclave

New Delhi, Sept 24 (UNI) The two-day BJP National Executive meet began here on Sunday with the leadership focused on drawing out electoral strategies for polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh and also on the backdrop of government coming under attack for joblessness and drop in growth rate. On the first day, the BJP chief Amit Shah inaugurated a meeting of party office-bearers which is attended by key leaders of the party. The Sunday's deliberations are expected to fine tune two resolutions -one on socio-political and the other on economic issues. The main meeting will be held on Monday wherein Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to speak out eloquently on various issues and also defend government's standpoint on note-ban and the GST roll out. As many as 15 BJP Chief Ministers, six Deputy Chief Ministers, 1,400 MLAs, number of ministers and 330 MPs would attend the two-day meet. Last BJP national executive meet was held at Bhubaneswar. BJP chief Amit Shah will address the meet in the morning hours in his presidential speech and unveils party's programmes. BJP national Vice President Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, heading party's Good Governance cell, and General Secretary Ram Madhav are interacting with leaders and subject related experts to prepare the resolutions. The timing of the two day national executive meet with the end of birth centenary celebration Deendayal Upadhyaya hints that the party could go back to a few Hindutva values of welfare for all and appeasement of none. From November this year till the end of December 2018 -- the country will see elections to as many as nine states - starting with Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. In early 2018, elections are due in three northeastern states Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland while Congress-ruled Karnataka goes to polls in May 2018. In November-December 2018, polls ought to be held in Mizoram and three other key leaders - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. UNI DEVN SHK 1840
