BJP is day dreaming about making Cong internal situation a poll issue: Chaturvedi

New Delhi/Bhopal, Oct 23 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress has outrightly denied suggestions that infighting in the Congress party between three top leaders Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Digvijaya Singh has resurfaced in the run up to the polls and this may help the BJP.
"BJP is day dreaming. There is no infighting. All these are part of BJP propaganda to hide their failures in the last 15 years," Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesman Pankaj Chaturvedi told UNI.
Answering questions, he said that instead of making it an issue, the BJP should be worried that the Congress has the advantage of "seniority of Kamal Nath and dynamism and
charishma of Mr Scindia".
"This makes Congress a dynamic force in the state. We also have Digvijayji. In fact, we have an ideal combination to take the fight to the enemy camp....In the ultimate, we are winning," he said.
The observations from the Congress spokesman in the state come at a time when Congress insiders admit that the BJP is "propagating" various theories of differences in the grand old party -which is out of power in Madhya Pradesh since 2003.
"But, I tell you, once tickets are distributed by BJP in Madhya Pradesh, they will face 'bhukamp (a huge tremor)....
The ground underneath their feel will slip. We will prove a better political party and will be able to carry forward all
party leaders and all sections. After tickets distribution, the BJP will face greater disappointment," he said adding that "one should not be surprised if BJP gets a shocker like they faced in Delhi polls in 2015".
"The public mood is against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government. It is up to the people of Madhya Pradesh
now to return to the Congress fold," said Mr Chaturvedi.
He also denied a suggestion that failure to stitch alliance with Mayawati-led BSP will harm Congress prospects
in the ultimate.
"In elections, what counts in alliance making is to ensure defeat of BJP. Well, BSP has certain percentage of votes
in some 60 seats or so. But to say that the BSP can harm only the Congress is erroneous. Independent analysis
of seats BSP contested in 2003, 2008 and 2013 shows that the BSP has hurt both the Congress and the BJP,"
Mr Chaturvedi said.
To another question, he said, in politics one cannot rule out a possibility that had BSP and Congress stayed together,
the BJP would have get an edge by default.
"This happened in UP after Samajwadi Party's alliance with the congress in 2017. With more bipolar election scene on the ground, in fact in some seats, BJP could have benefitted. So why bother about spoilt milk....Congress is certainly capable of fighting BJP without BSP,'he said.
In terms of developmental issues, the Congress spokesman further said thst besides the rest of the state and issues like joblessness, over last 15 years, the situation in Bundelkhand region has been very bad.
"In many villages, people have to work hard and walk two kms to fetch water. Often people have to use unclean water which, in turn also bring in skin infections and diseases," said Mr Chaturvedi.
He said, going by the mood in the Bundelkhand region, in about 50 assembly segments from Bundelkhand, Mahakaushal, Baghelkhand and Malwa-Nimar, the Congress is likely to establish good leads.
