BJP slams Congress for protesting against Sonia Gandhi questioning by ED

New Delhi , July 21( UNI) The BJP on Thursday slammed the Congress party after it announced that it was going to hold a nationwide protest against Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi being summoned by the Enforcement Directorate to appear before it in the alleged National Herald money laundering case.

"Today Sonia Gandhi is going to be interrogated by the ED. The Congress party is going to conduct Satyagraha. This is not a satyagraha, it is a chauvinism against the laws of the country and the country's institutions" said the BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar on Thursday.
He added that "Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are on bail in this case, they are also accused of cheating".
The BJP spokesperson said, "On the one hand we are those who respect the law and institutions. Look at thebehavior of Congress. Their Chief Minister is sitting in Delhi. All the MPs are demoralizing the ED and other organizations in support of their leader".
He alleged that, Congress' satyagraha today is not a satyagraha. It is an attempt to keep the money of a party in their pockets and these protests are helping them by holding Satyagrah....adding, "The truth is that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are on bail and these people have lost the case in the High Court and Supreme Court".
Sonia Gandhi's questioning had been deferred earlier after she tested positive for Covid and was hospitalised. After being released from hospital in mid-June, she had asked for more time to appear before the agency.
