New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) A city court sent to 14 days police custody the factory owner and the manager of a four storey building, having illegal manufacturing units in North Delhi's congested Anaj Mandi area, where at least 43 people were killed in a massive fire on Sunday.
Delhi Police registered a case under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire) under the Indian Penal Code and transferred the matter to the Crime Branch. After lodging the FIR, police had arrested both the Factory owner Rehan and the Manager Furkan and produced them on Monday in Delhi's Tis Hazari Court.
Metropolitan Magistrate Manoj Kumar, after hearing the plea on behalf of police, seeking custody of both Rehan and Furkan, ordered both to 14 days custodial interrogation.
