New Delhi, Jul 18 (UNI) The Centre on Saturday decided to allow contribution or grants from any private person or institution to the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) meant for the providing assistance to States during disaster or natural calamities.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) contributes fund allocation from the Budget allocation and distribute this fund and as per the need of the States for disaster management.
Under the new norms, under Section 46(1)(b) of the Disaster Management (DM) Act, 2005, contributions or grants can be made by any person or institution in NDRF through modes prescribed by the Government.
Any person or Institution now can contribute through the physical instruments such as check, draft, money order, traveler's check or other electronic or written instrument drawn in favour of Pay and Accounts Officer (Secretariat) MHA at New Delhi or through the RTGS, NEFT or UPI.
Contributions may also be made through RTGS, NEFT indicating the purpose as “Contributions or Grants to NDRF” and deposited in the Receipt Account No. 10314382194, IFSC Code- SBIN0000625, State Bank of India, Central Sectt Branch, New Delhi.
The private entity can also contribute through Bharatkosh portal https:haratkosh.gov.in using Net banking, Debit Cards, Credit Cards.
