Union Home Secretary to review Covid situation in Delhi on Monday

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla will review the corona virus situation in Delhi on Monday, a senior Home Ministry official said.
This meeting gains significance as the Covid 19 cases in Delhi has substantially increased manifold and till last Friday, the number of cases have gone up to 5891 which all time high in a single day. The infection rate which was quite low in past many weeks has increased to 9.88 percent.
Union Health Secretary and other officials of the Health Ministry will be present in the meeting whereas senior officers of the Delhi Government will also be present.
Periodically, the Union Home Ministry reviews the Covid situation in Union Territories and situation in Delhi.
In June this year, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a series of meeting following a sharp increase in Covid cases in Delhi and many steps were taken both by the central and State Government including setting up of more Covid care Hospitals and more testing facilities in many hospitals in Delhi.
