Delhi govt to hold I-Day celebration at Delhi Secretariat, not at Chhatrasal Stadium this year: Gopal Rai

New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) Delhi General Administration Department Minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday said that keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic, the Delhi government has decided to cancel the mega cultural programme of the Independence Day celebration at the Chhatrasal Stadium but a small function will take place at the Delhi Secretariat.
Mr Rai in a statement said, this year, the Delhi Government has also decided to invite the COVID Warriors of Delhi, therefore, representatives of doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, plasma donors, ambulance drivers, police will be present.
Mr Rai said that the Central Jail officers will be honoured for their good work. Apart from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal around 100 people will be present in this program on August 15.
