Siliguri, Jul 22 (UNI) An adult elephant died of electrocution after the pachyderm came in contact with live wire while attempting to have jackfruits at a tea garden in the Dooars of north Bengal.
The carcass was found dead entangled with the wiring this morning, eyewitnesses and Forest department officials said.
Local people, mostly tea labourers, said they could hear screaming and loud cries of the wild animal
