Kaziranga's first ever grassland bird survey records critically endangered & vulnerable birds species

Guwahati, July 14 (UNI) The first Grassland Bird Survey of the Kaziranga national park and tiger reserve has recorded a total of 43 grassland bird species including one critically endangered, two endangered, and six vulnerable species, along with several species endemic to the region, as per
the IUCN Red List.
A senior official of the park said this today adding that the outcome of the survey in terms of the records of the birds made it one of the highest grassland bird diversity in the country.

Centre releases Rs 15 20 crore XV-FC grants for Mizoram village councils

Aizawl, Jan 16 (UNI) The Central government has released Rs 15.20 crore to Mizoram for its rural local bodies under the Fifteenth Finance Commission (XV-FC) grants, providing a significant boost to grassroots governance and development across the State.
The amount, released during the financial year 2025–26, represents the second instalment of untied grants for the financial year 2024–25.
