A private bus in Odisha fined Rs 5,66,981 for not paying Motor Vehicle Tax

Bhubaneswar,Oct 14 (UNI) Odisha Transport department has imposed a fine of more than Rs5.5 lakh on a private bus for not paying the Motor Vehicle Tax since May 2019.
Taking to Twitter the State Transport Authority said the bus plying from Koraput to Bhubaneswar was detained by enforcement wing of RTO Bhubaneswar II and slapped a fine of Rs 5,66,981 for not paying Motor Vehicle Tax from May 2019 onwards till date.
The bus was also plying without valid stage carriage permit, it said.
