Well-equipped Mobile CSC sets to start in Tripura

Agartala, Nov 2 (UNI) To enhance the service digital service facilities for the rural people, Mobile Common Service Center (CSC) will also be introduced in every village of Tripura soon, said Secretary Information Technology Puneet Agarwal.
The proposed Mobile CSEs will be equipped with infrastructures like laptops, all-in-one colour printers, PVC Card printers, Photo Printers, Web Cameras, 4G Hotspot routers, Biometric morpho, and a power bank for backup power.
The oldest state-supported telecom service provider BSNL has decided to install as many as 177 mobile towers in Tripura to bring uncovered villages of the state into cyberspace within 500 days to further strengthen the internet service in the rural areas, he said.
The BSNL has undertaken a survey across 274 uncovered villages out of 573 in Tripura and has identified 129 uncovered villages for tower erection which fulfills the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) guidelines.
The remaining villages are being re-surveyed through district administration to further examine their eligibility as approved by the union cabinet for the saturation of 4G mobile service across the country, he informed.
The central government has sanctioned Rs 50 Cr for two projects under Part-V of the scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment in FY 2022-23 to be implemented by BSNL, Agarwal stated.
He added, “Provisioning of 50 Fiber to the Home (FTTH) connections to Government and Private establishments, institutions, offices, and households of Tripura by extending BharatNet network and provisioning of one Public Wi-Fi Hotspot in each 583 village panchayats".
Under the BharatNet project, all the villages of Tripura have been handed over to BSNL and they will install the BharatNet infrastructure in all those villages along with operational and maintenance.
