Itanagar, Oct 10 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Communications, Devusinh Chauhan, who arrived here on Sunday called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra at Raj Bhavan here. Both discussed strengthening telecommunication networks in the frontier state, a communiqué from the Governor’s secretariat said.
During the meeting, the Governor emphasised on providing secure, reliable and integrated telecommunication services in the State. He said that in modern times most of the developmental projects are promoted and progressed by online processing. Further, amid the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the students are fully dependent on online classes. It is, therefore, inescapably essential that high quality internet services must be available to every location, all the time, in the State.
“An affordable communication network in tune with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative will go a long way to accelerate the inclusive socio-economic development of Arunachal Pradesh,” the Governor, who in the past had facilitated mobile connection in the remote district of Anjaw through Armed Forces network for the civil administration, remarked.
