Six killed, 20 injured in two separate road accidents in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21 (UNI) As many as six persons were killed and 20 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Odisha today.
Four persons, including a woman, died and five others sustained severe injuries when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided head on with a truck on Cuttack-Chandabali road under Chandol police outpost of Kendrapara Sadar police station.
Kendrapara Sadar police station IIC Kabuli Barik said while three people including the driver died on the spot another died in SCB Medical College and Hospital Cuttack.
Vehicular traffic came to a halt at the busy Cuttack-chandabali road for couple of hours following the accident.
Police said one Subash Rout, with four of his family members, of Bilikana village under Rajnagar police station were on their way to Bhubaneswar to catch a train for Mumbai when the mishap took place.

In another accident, two people were killed and 15 others were injured when a passenger bus on way from Cuttack to Angul overturned at Kajal Kana near Chowdar in Cuttack district.

The bus overturned after it ran over sand heap on the road side killing passengers on the spot. Soon after the incident local people along with Police and Fire Brigade personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers from the bus and shifted them to the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack.

Probe into killing of two people in Meghalaya

Shillong, Mar 28 (UNI) Meghalaya police on Thursday said probe is on into the killing of two persons in Ichamati and Dalda in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district along the India-Bangladesh border, even though no arrest was made in this connection till the filing of this report.
