Assam Rifles jawan killed in ambush in Arunachal

Itanagar, Oct 21 (UNI) A jawan of the 6th Assam Rifles was killed in an ambush by NSCN (IM) militants in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, a police spokesperson said here.
"Today at around 0700 hrs - 0800 hrs, a group of NSCN (IM) operatives laid down an ambush against 6th Assam Rifles, at near Sanliam village area ( under Lazu circle) Tirap district. One soldier of 6th Assam Rifles achieved martyrdom," Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) PRO Hemant Tewari said.
Meanwhile, Guwahati-based Defence PRO Lt.Col P Khongsai said, “during an operation, the security forces along with police encountered a group of insurgents near Sanliam village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh today. A soldier was killed in action during the operation.”
