Arunachal: New Berberis species with record ovule count discovered in Tawang

Itanagar, July 12 (UNI) A team of botanists has discovered a remarkable new species of Berberis from the high-altitude forests of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
Named Berberis myriovula, the species is distinguished by an unprecedented ovule count—up to
17 in a single ovary—the highest ever recorded among the 400–500 known species of the genus globally.

Odisha: MCL inks Rs 1 26 crore MoU with CIPET to skill youths

Bhubaneswar, May 20 (UNI) Reaffirming its commitment to empowering communities, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed a MoU with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar to provide two-year residential ITI training in Electrician and Fitter trades.
Under this programme, 40 students—20 each in Electrician and Fitter trades, selected from MCL’s operational areas will be provided with industry-relevant technical skills at CIPET, through a comprehensive 2-year ITI curriculum.
