Sr citizens need not require e-pass at Kolkata Metro during peak hours between 11 am to 4 30 pm

Kolkata, Sep 15 (UNI) Kolkata Metro Railway today announced that the senior citizen commuters need not require e-pass for the ride between 1130 hrs to 1600 hrs, a day after the country's oldest underground railway network commenced its commercial operations nearly six months of suspension due to Covid-19 restriction.
Barring the senior citizens, a Metro rider, who has smart card can avail the train services between 8 am to 7 pm and required e-pass from the authorities. The senior citizens, however, required to produce age proof in case the authorities demanded such identity of the rider.
The new norm was adopted to maintain social distancing among the commuters.
