AIPEF urges Meghalaya CM to intervene on Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022

Shillong, July 22 (UNI) The All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) on Friday urged Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to table the controversial Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 during the monsoon session of Parliament without prior consultations.
"We strongly urged the Meghalaya Chief Minister to intervene to stop this amendment bill which could have far-reaching consequences," AIPEF Chairman Shailendra Dubey told reporters here in Meghalaya.
Dubey, who had attended the general conference of the MeECL Engineer Association, said the draft Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2022, should be discussed in detail with all stakeholders, especially electricity consumers and electricity workers,
