Kohima Oct 14 (UNI) Ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of Nagaland nominee and consensus candidate of United Democratic Alliance S. Keoshu Yimchunger was declared elected unopposed from the Shamator-Chessore Assembly Constituency under Tuensang district of Nagaland Assembly byelection.

According to Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland, V. Shashank Shekhar said that Keoshu was the only candidate to file nomination for the by-election, which was scheduled for October 30 next and was therefore, declared elected uncontested yesterday on the Last Date for Withdrawal of candidature.
