Agartala, Jan 13 (UNI) A number of Tripura BJP MLAs are all set to follow the suit of Uttar Pradesh, as senior BJP MLA and former health minister of BJP-IPFT government here Sudip Roybarman has announced not to contest next election in BJP ticket and repented for the ‘mistake’ by fighting 2018 assembly election as a BJP nominee.
According to the report, upset over the alleged non-cooperation from the Biplab Kumar Deb government and disrespect from state BJP functionaries for the last one year, Roybarman and six of his team members have been waiting for a redressal from BJP central leadership but finally, it did not happen despite several rounds of discussion with the top rank.
After resigning from BJP, Swami Prasad Maurya, Labour Minister of Yogi Adityanath's government in Uttar Pradesh, and four other MLAs, Roybarman said, "There is no question whether BJP will offer me ticket or not. I will not run for BJP in next election," in a student gathering at Sabroom in South Tripura on Wednesday.
