Agartala, Jan 2 (UNI) In the midst of internal squabble in the ruling BJP, MLA Susanta Chowdhury today resigned from the state committee of the party to protest the change of Mandal president of his constituency and sought BJP high command's immediate corrective measure to save the party in Tripura.
Raised serious allegations against BJP state leadership, he said, “Those who have been fighting against CPI-M for decades together were sidelined by the party here. Now the CPI-M cadres, who worked to defeat BJP in Tripura during 2018 assembly elections, are being promoted. Despite our repeated appeals nobody pays heed and as a result, BJP is being captured by CPI-M tactfully.”
He alleged without any consultation at local level, Mandal president of his constituency Majlishpur in eastern Agartala has been suddenly replaced two days ago with a person who had joined BJP from CPM only after BJP-IPFT government came to power, which he believed to be a step to weaken him and BJP as well.
