Tripura govt’s ally IPFT to hold meeting on alliance with BJP Chief in Delhi tonight

Agartala, Oct 22 (UNI) A six-member delegation of IPFT, the ally of BJP-led Tripura government, reached Delhi last night to meet with BJP national president J P Nadda to discuss about the immediate compliance of alliance conditions agreed by BJP before 2018 assembly election including creation of separate Tipraland, elevating Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC).
The team led by IPFT general secretary and Tribal Welfare Minister of Biplab Kumar Deb’s cabinet Mevar Kr Jamatia is scheduled to hold a meeting with Nadda in BJP headquarters in the evening today. Last week, IPFT leaders led by Jamatia had met DoNER Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Tribal Welfare Minister Arjun Munda and a couple of national leaders of BJP to press for their demands.
IPFT Spokesperson Mangal Debbarma told UNI, “We have no fresh agenda to discuss with BJP chief but to apprise him of the present condition of ADC and indigenous population. Also to request him for doing the needful to our core demand Tipraland and fulfillment of alliance commitments for empowerment of indigenous people of the state.”
