Bagala Dharamshala controversy: Puri BJP MLA seeks Union Ministers intervention

Bhubaneswar, Aug 24 (UNI) Puri Sadar BJP MLA Jayanta Kumar Sarangi today urged two Union Ministers to personally intervene on the issue of selling of land of Bagala Dharamshala to hoteliers illegally by the Puri District Collector.

In two separate but identical letters to Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the BJP MLA said the unlawful work of the Collector of selling of the donated land might cause law and order problem and requested the Union Ministers to intervene in the matter.

COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 6,604, cases touch 3,57,779

Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 6,604 with the death of 58
persons on Tuesday, while the tally touched 3,57,779 with 3,957 new confirmed cases.
According to the latest State Government Health bulletin, the active cases accounted
for 37,172, while the number of discharged cases stood at 3,14,003.
The percentage of discharged rose to 87.76 per cent.
