Kolkata, Oct 03 (UNI) " This is a super autocracy, this is not a democracy. BJP is the biggest pandemic, " alleged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who led a protest march against the alleged Hathras gangrape incident on Saturday.
Ms Banerjee said, " I felt like running to UP. My heart today is in Hathras. Our representatives went to Hathras but were stopped 1km from the village. The females were beaten, even journalists. It has come to my notice that journalists are receiving threats since yesterday. "
" The Kisan Samaj, youth, students, minorities, Dalits are being pushed towards darkness but we will lead them towards the light. "
" Encounters in Uttar, Delhi riots, the killings of journalists but how many people have got justice? Trinamool Congress will continue to raise our voices for them. My only caste is humanity, " she stated.
" Criminal offences can happen anywhere, we condemn it regardless of where it happens. But people expect justice when these things happen. But what happened there? " she questioned.
" Without giving the body to the family, police burnt the body without giving the body to the family. They have taken away their phones, not allowing the media to meet the family, " Ms Banerjee said.
" Where is the GST money? Before elections, they send money with agencies. Before elections, there is Pulwama, Pakistan or some war. After elections, they sell Indian Railways, Air India, BSNL, " Ms Banerjee stated.
" We were lectured about what to do for COVID. But what are they doing? So many people lost jobs, migrant workers, small scale industries are crying. They did nothing. "
" They campaigned saying Mamata Didi does not allow Durga Puja or Saraswati Puja. Then why did Yogi Adityanath not allow Durga Puja? " she asked.
" I wanted to speak to the victim’s family but I was told their phones were taken away. How long will you stop us from reaching out to them? The Dalit girl is like my own. "
" Just like what happened in Uttar Pradesh, something similar had happened in Singur as well. I had done a 26-day hunger strike. "
" We will go to scheduled caste villages, dalit, tribal villages, and ensure people find out about BJP’s atrocities on them, " the Chief Minister averred.

This was for the first time Ms Banerjee stepped out in the city post COVID-19.
The All India Trinamool Congress chief started walking from Kolkata's Birla Planetarium to the Gandhi Statue in Central Kolkata - a distance of about 3 km from 4 pm.
The protest rally came a day after a team of Trinamool Congress members were barred from entering Hathras to meet the victim's family.
While party MP Pratima Mondal was allegedly manhandled by police, MP Derek O'Brien was shoved to the ground.
