Meghalaya Congress criticises govt over commission of inquiry

Shillong, Sep 23 (UNI) Meghalaya’s opposition Congress on Thursday has criticised the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government for not being specific in the terms of reference relating to the enquiry into the alleged illegalities in the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL).
Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma said that the terms of reference of the enquiry instead talks of the issues like appointment in human resources and award of works.
“We are talking about specific issues pertaining to Saubhagya, we are talking specifically pertaining to the smart meters,” he said, adding that the terms of reference when the government appointed the commission of enquiry, has completely “diluted” the investigation.
