BJP confident to make impressive gains in 2023 Meghalaya polls

Shillong, Aug 8 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Meghalaya, Alexander Laloo Hek on Monday exuded confidence that the party will make impressive gains in the 2023 State assembly elections.
"The BJP will contest in not less than 40 seats and they have a great chance to win at least 10 to 15 seats," Hek, a former Health and Family Welfare minister in the ruling National People's Party-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government, said.
"People in Meghalaya are looking at the BJP as an alternative due to the pro-people policies of the BJP-led government at the Centre under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There are already some legislators and leaders from other political parties who are in touch with me and have expressed their desire to contest election from the BJP," Hek said, adding that the sitting legislators will be joining the party at an appropriate time.
