Indian Constitution provides flourishing democracy, Independent Judiciary: JP Nadda

Imphal, Nov 26 (UNI) The Indian Constitution has empowered the
people, provide rights and give duties to citizens and we all should
pay tribute to Bharat Ratna, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and other founding
Fathers of the Constitution for drafting one of the best Constitution
in the world, said JP Nadda, BJP Chief while addressing a function to
observe Constitution day at Hotel Classic Grande here today.
Nadda said the Constitution ensures that fundamental rights must
flourish even though governments may come and go. All these rights,
powers were provided by the Constitution drafted by Dr Ambedkar and
members of the committee.
He said we also should know the rights and duties as enunciated in
the Constitution. It was a well-drafted Constitution and that is why
our democracy is moving forward he said. The autonomy, free and fair
elections, the sovereignty of Parliament, independent Judiciary are all
given by the Constitution.
We all should pay respect to Dr Ambedkar for his contribution to the
Independent India and for giving us the Constitution. It was drafted
after a long discussion. Everybody was taken into confidence and this
day in 1949 the Constitution was adopted he said.
In 2015 it was decided to observe the day as Constitution day. Nadda
said people remember all those who contributed to the writing of the
Constitution. Ambedkar emphasized equality, that democracy should
flourish with the participation of all and development should take place
he added.
He wanted to allow all citizens and we all should study it properly.
Fundamental rights should be protected as provided in the Constitution
he said. Nadda along with Chief Minister
N Biren paid floral tributes to the portraits of Dr Ambedkar.
