Former CM Ibobi levels BJP led govt as propaganda govt

Imphal, Oct 21 (UNI) Congress Legislative Party leader and former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today said the BJP led government in Manipur has failed to discharge its duties in every sphere and termed the government as "propaganda government".
Speaking at the flag hoisting ceremony of the Congress Candidate, Salam Joy Singh for Wangoi at Snowland Complex, Samurou Naorem here today Ibobi Singh said during Congress regime developmental schemes were taken up for rural population as rural area consists of 70 pc in the country.
He said, “When Congress was in power, the National Food Security Act and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme were initiated." He said the BJP government has not been able to extend the 100 days of employment guaranteed by MGNREGS to 200 days. He further said the BJP government has also failed to reduce the price of rice from Rs 3/kg for those who were below poverty line under NFSA. The present government is more focused on changing the names of the already existing schemes he added.
