Patna, June 11 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary on Wednesday said after the Nehru era, the Congress mostly formed governments at the Centre due to sympathy waves while Prime Minister Narendra Modi got the mandate of the people based on his work for development and welfare of the people.
Chaudhary told media persons here that after the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, her son Rajiv Gandhi won the general election in 1984 with a thumping majority due to a sympathy wave.
