RLJP will not contest all 243 Bihar assembly seats: Agarwal

Patna, Jan 20 (UNI) Amid speculations over RLJP joining the Grand Alliance in Bihar, the party on Monday clarified that it would not contest all 243 seats in the state's assembly elections to be held in October-November.
Party's National spokesman Shrawan Agarwal said RLJP would not contest all 243 seats, and pointed out that even the BJP, which claims to be the largest party in the world, never contested all 243 seats in Bihar on its own.
"Our national president Pashupati Kumar Paras had declared that the party was preparing for all 243 seats for better results", the RLJP leader said, adding that his statement did not mean that the party would contest all 243 seats. If the party got strong in all 243 seats, then it would be useful for its allies in the election, he said.
