Sack BJP ministers for opposing caste census: RJD tells Nitish

Patna, Jan 6 (UNI) Bihar's main opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday demanded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar immediately sack BJP Ministers from his cabinet for opposing a proposed caste census in the state.
RJD's state unit president Jagadanand Singh told media persons here that his party was strongly supporting Chief Minister Kumar for his commitment to conduct a caste census in Bihar. Leader of the opposition Tejaswi Prasad Yadav had also demanded Kumar carry out a caste census from the resources of the state government itself if the central government did not change its stand of not conducting caste census at the national level, Singh said..
"If Kumar is prepared for a caste census using the resources of the state government, there is no reason for his cabinet colleagues from BJP quota to oppose his decision", Singh said adding that because of the deadlock over the issue, the Chief Minister had the right to drop ministers from the cabinet who were opposed to his decision of caste census. If Kumar had any apprehensions, the RJD would strongly support his decision on the floor of the Assembly, enabling him to do the job without the BJP's support, he stressed.
