Bihar: 1514 candidates in fray for second phase of Assembly elections

Patna, Oct 18 (UNI) Altogether 1514 candidates were in the fray for 94 assembly seats out of total 243 slated for poll in the second phase of the three phased Bihar assembly election to be held on November 3.
Additional Chief Electoral officer Sanjay Kumar Singh said here today that altogether 1717 candidates had filed their nomination of which 203 nominations were cancelled on technical grounds during the scrutiny and 1514 were found to be valid. The candidates can withdraw their nominations by October 19.
Mr Singh said that Altogether 1066 candidates were in the fray for 71 assembly seats slated for poll in the first phase of the election to be held on October 28.
