Nitish kicks off campaign through virtual rally for Assembly polls, targets previous RJD regime

Patna, Sep 7 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today kicked off campaign by addressing virtual rally for upcoming state assembly elections and listed achievements of his government and slammed RJD for its failures on all fronts during its regime from 1990 to 2005.
Mr Kumar, also the president of JD(U), who kicked off campaign of his party for upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections by addressing a virtual rally named as " Nischay Samvad", said his government had taken a number of steps to improve the prevailing situation in all sectors and its results were visible all around. When his government was first voted to power in 2005, the situation in almost all sectors was pathetic but people were now feeling relaxed and happy in changed scenario after sustained efforts of his government in last 15 years, he added.
The Chief Minister said that power availability in Bihar in 2005 was only 700 MW and number of electricity consumers was only 24 lakhs in the state. Since his government was voted to power, sustained efforts were made to improve the availability of electricity for people and in his address on August 15, 2012, he had promised that he would not seek votes in 2015 Assembly Elections if power situation was not considerably improved in the state. It could be definitely said that as per his promise, power situation had improved remarkably by 2015 and people had returned his government to the power again in assembly elections held in that year, he pointed out.
Mr Kumar said, after coming to power in 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections, he had promised that electricity connection would be given to every household under 7 resolves. It was pleasure for him to say that electricity connection to every household was provided in October 2018 while the target was fixed for December 2018, he noted and added that number of electricity consumers had now increased to 1,61,82,000 while the number was only 24 lakhs in RJD regime.
