Modi demands intervention of Election Commission in Lalu carrying out political activities in jail

Pàtna, Sep 1 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today demanded immediate intervention of Election Commission into Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand providing five star facilities to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad in a government bungalow where he was carrying out election work of his party, which is a brazen violation of jail manual as Mr Prasad is serving jail terms of various durations in different cases of fodder scam after being convicted by a special CBI court of Ranchi.
Mr Modi tweeted that Mr Prasad was first shifted from Hotwar jail to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Ranchi, in the name of treatment and then he was shifted to Bangalore having five star facilities and sprawling campus. Mr Prasad was shifted to Bungalow in the name of of isolation from other patients of RIMS during Corona pandemic but he was indulged in carrying out political activities for upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, he added.
The Deputy Chief Minister demanded immediate intervention of Election Commission into Mr Prasad availing five star facilities in Bungalow provided by Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand where he was freely mixing with party workers and leaders for preparation of upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections. Mr Prasad was serving jail terms of various durations after being convicted in cases different fodder scams running in thousands of Crores and such activities by him was brazen violation of jail manual which warranted intervention of Election Commission and CBI, he noted.
