Pàtna, July 8 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today alleged that fearing certain defeats, opposition parties were putting pressure to defer Bihar Assembly Elections slated for October- November this year.
Mr Modi said that opposition parties were putting pressure to defer Assembly Elections, an essential process in democratic set up. When Railways, Domestic Flights, Hotels and Tourists Spots were being opened with care during the the Corona pandemic, why should not Assembly Elections be held in Bihar, he asked.
The Chief Minister said that Election Commission had made all arrangements for conducting Bihar Assembly Elections in accordance with guidelines and precautions required to be taken during the Corona pandemic. Additional 33,797 polling stations would be set up during the Assembly Elections in Bihar to ensure social distancing among the voters during the polling, he added.
