JD(U) in talks with BJP for seat sharing in UP poll: Lalan

Patna, Dec 24 (UNI) Amid speculations over VIP and HAM, two minor constituents of ruling NDA in Bihar, deciding to contest together Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, major coalition partner JD(U) on Friday announced that the party was engaged in negotiations with BJP on seat sharing for the upcoming assembly elections in UP.
National president of JD(U) Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh told media persons that his party had authorised senior party leader and Union Minister RCP Singh to negotiate with BJP for seat sharing between the two parties in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. A list of seats desired by JD(U) to contest, had been submitted to BJP and final decision would be taken after negotiation being done by RCP Singh, he added.
JD(U) leader, however, refused to divulge into number of seats claimed by the party. It was not required to share such details with media, he remarked.
