Patna, August 7 (UNI) Purging of the speculations of joining the Union cabinet, JD( U) , a major constituent unit of the NDA categorically cleared that it would not be a part of the Union cabinet.
JD( U) former state president and Bihar Education Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary told news persons here on Sunday that the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had earlier announced that his party would not join the Union Cabinet and in view of the decision of Nitish Kumar, which was final, the question of joining Union Cabinet does not arise.
Chaudhary said that following denial of respectable representation in the Union Cabinet earlier, the Chief Minister had decided that there would be no representation of JD(U) in the Union Cabinet.
Speaking about future of the alliance and contesting the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 as well as state assembly election in 2025 as an alliance partner, Chaudhary said that the alliance partners were moving ahead together.
As of now it does not appear that the alliance would not continue, Chaudhary said adding that BJP and JD(U) had already announced to contest the elections in Alliance and the JD(U) has also not taken any other decision on the issue.
Replying to a query regarding close proximity of JD(U) with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Chaudhary
said that there was no indication of the closeness.
He said it was only being depicted by those having prejudice opinion. The relationship with the RJD was only a normal political activity which has no special meaning at the moment.
Earlier the lone face in the Union Cabinet from JD(U), RCP Singh who stepped down from his post following expiry of his term as Rajya Sabha member. Since his resignation, speculations in the political corridors were rife about JD(U) possibly joining the Union Cabinet, which Chaudhary category ruled out.
