Grand alliance government will get probed over poor quality of steel used in Mahatma Gandhi bridge superstructure

Patna July 31 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and party MLC Prem Chandra Mishra today said that poor quality of steel was used in the construction of the superstructure of Mahatma Gandhi bridge over Ganga river, which smacked corruption in the construction of superstructure inaugurated today.
Mr Mishra said that Grand Alliance government would order a thorough probe into construction of the superstructure of Mahatma Gandhi bridge if the alliance was voted to power in 2020 Bihar assembly election. As per provision of the contract, rust-free steel was to be used in the construction of superstructure but it was not done and the matter was suppressed when he had raised the issue in Bihar Legislative Council and outside, he pointed out.
Congress MLC said that grand alliance government is formed after the election, would not only order probe but also ensure stringent punishment to those found guilty of corruption. It was a brazen display of corruption in the superstructure of Mahatma Gandhi bridge over the Ganga connecting North and South Bihar, he remarked.
