BJP will sweep power in West Bengal poll with over 200 seats: J P Nadda

BJP will sweep power in West Bengal poll with over 200 seats: J P Nadda

Burdwan, Jan 9 (UNI) BJP president Jagat Prasad Nadda on Saturday exuded confidence
of sweeping the West Bengal's assembly poll with over 200 seats and said the people have
already made their mind to bid farewell to the Mamata Banerjee led TMC government in May.
" As the day advances for the poll, the number of seats would go on higher number," the
BJP leader, pointing at the surge of people at his road show in this rice bowl district, said
He said the tsunami has started for the party's popularity and the assembled people were
not outsiders.
" They are the common Bengali people and have started greeting BJP and began to
condemn the TMC government," Mr Nadda said and slammed the Mamata Banerjee led
government for alleged indulging in corruption.
" Even the state government has moved to Supreme court to counter a High court seeking
a CAG report on distribution of tarpaulin for Amphan victims in the state," said Mr Nadda.
“The warmth with which you welcomed me and your huge presence clearly shows that you
have decided for the exit of Mamata and entry of BJP (in the state). We will form the
government in West Bengal and work for the welfare of the farmers here."
He said the budgetary allocation for agriculture in India has increased six times under the Narendra Modi government to Rs 1,34,000 crore from Rs 22,000 crore in 2013/14, and
slammed the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal for depriving the farmers from
having benefit of Rs 6000 under Krishak Bidhi Sambal and Rs 5 lakh life insurance under
Ausman Bharat.
Launching the Krishak Suraksha Abhiyan in this district, known as the rice bowl of Bengal,
Mr Nadda, however, assured the people that the BJP would implement all the central
schemes once it came to power in "May 2021"
Mr Nadda was critical of a recent letter written by Chief Minister Mamata Banejree to PM
Modi requesting to extend centrally initiated welfare schemes for the farmers and added
that it was too late now.
" We will implement all the central schemes for the farmers as the people have vowed to
vote for BJP and drive out the Mamata Banerjee government in May ( 2021)." Mr Nadda
said amid cheers from the people.
Besides the Modi government has enhanced the budgetary provision to six times in past
six years, the BJP government also increased MSP( minimum support price to the 50
percent and brought legislation for farmers who can directly sell their products to mandy.
Mr Nadda said the party workers would go to 40,000 gram sahva between January 24-30
and start krisak bhoj and clarify the merits of the three farm bills brought by the union
government for farmers' welfare.
He said West Bengal stood at 24th in the agriculture of the 29 states in the country
despite the state having plenty of waters for irrigation. He said the farmers want the
facility of irrigation, which was lacking in West Bengal.
Mr Nadda also lambasted the government here for alleged changing names of the
many central schemes and run those in the name of local names.
" This would not go nice to the people as they already know they are the central
schemes and bless PM Modi".
Mr Nadda said citing an example like Sacchh Bharat was changed to Nirmal Bangla.
He also slammed the TMC regime saying the state was besieged under various
scams like Saradha, Narada and even funds for Amphan was laundered.
Mr Nadda also vowed to extend all the central schemes and make people happy and
prosperous under the BJP government once the party was voted to power in 2021
assembly, which is slated to April-May.
