Alipurduar, Nov 12 (UNI) A BJP conovy, which was escorting party's Bengal unit president Dilip Ghosh, was attacked with stones in north Bengal's Alipurduar district in which windscreens of three
vehicles were broken.
Mr Ghosh was unhurt and he was confined inside his car by his security men.
However, there no one was injured in the stone pelting on Thursday.
BJP alleged that the attack was sponsored by the Trinamool Congress, which was denied by the ruling party.
Dilip Ghosh had a "Chai Pe Charcha" programme this morning at Madarihat from where the leader was moving towards Jaigaon, a border town of West Bengal with Bhutan, when the stone pelting happened later in the day.
Before this, the Police also stopped the convoy accusing the BJP of excessive number of fleet in the convoy in view of the existing covid-19 situation.
However, police allowed the convoy to move further and they were shown black flags at GST More.
The convoy came under attack in between Jharna bustee and Sunsuni Bazar.
