Andaman BJP objects to panchayat amendments

Port Blair, Jan 19 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday objected to the manner of proposed amendments to legislation concerning the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Panchayati Raj institutions saying these were untimely and not people-friendly.
Vishal Jolly, BJP National Executive Member and former party president in the union territory raised the objections against the proposed amendments in A & N Islands Grant-In-Aid to Panchayati Raj Institutions Rules, 2021.
In his letter to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Lt. Governor, Chief Secretary and others, Jolly raised preliminary objections with respect to the manner in which the proposed amendments have been introduced in the public domain.
