Hindu Samhati founder Tapan Ghosh dies of Covid; BJP leaders saddened

Kolkata, Jul 13 (UNI) BJP's West Bengal unit president Dilip Ghosh today expressed

his sadness over the demise of Hindu Samhati founding member Tapan Ghosh, who

breathed his last at the age of 67 at a city hospital on Sunday evening.

He was admitted to a private hospital on EM Bypass and diagnosed with covid-29.

Ghosh was admitted to the hospital late last month and on ventilator support for the

past few days.

Dilip Ghosh said Tapan Ghosh was a dedicated person to the unity of the Hindu


"Tapan Ghosh died. He was one of the most dedicated soldiers fighting for Hindu

unity and sangathan in West Bengal," senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member

Swapan Dasgupta tweeted.

Dasgupta said Ghosh gave his entire life to the cause, inspiring thousands through

personal examples.

Ghosh had formerly been an RSS pracharak since 1975. Later he had formed Hindu

Samhati in 2008.

BJP MP Locket Chatterjee said, " Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of

Shri Tapan Ghosh. We lose him to COVID-19. He will be deeply missed. Om Shanti. "

BJP MP from Hooghly Locket Chatterjee, a Covid survivor said, " I have been

discharged from hospital and am recovering well. A huge thanks to my doctors and

medical staff for your care. Thanks everyone for your overwhelming support, it means

a lot to me. I will remain in quarantine in the immediate future. "
