India Post releases Special Cover in honour of Arunachal unsung heroes

Itanagar, Oct 13 (UNI) As a part of the nationwide celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and National Postal Week-2021, the Department of Posts, North East Circle, Arunachal Pradesh Division on Wednesday released three Special Covers to commemorate the unsung freedom fighters of the state, namely , late Matmur Jamoh, late Moji Riba and late Moje Riba, an official source said.
The special cover of late Matmur Jamoh was released by his great grandson, Matmur Jamoh, at a small function at his memorial at Yagrung village in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
State System Administrator, Department of Posts, Arunachal Pradesh, Kabit Taki, speaking on the occasion informed that these Special Covers are being released in order to remember and honour the unsung heroes of Arunachal Pradesh for their sacrifices during the freedom struggle against the British.

Itanagar, April 19 (UNI) Around 9 per cent of 8.9 crore Arunachal Pradesh voters cast their votes in the first two hours till 9 am in simultaneous elections being held in the state for choosing the 18th Lok Sabha and the 11th State Legislative Assembly, a senior election official said.
