Patna, Apr 18 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced a series of measures including night curfew in the state from 9 PM to 5 AM besides closure of schools, colleges, cinema halls, parks, zoos and gymnasiums till May 15 to combat increasing number of Covid-19 cases in second wave of Corona pandemic.
Mr Kumar, after a marathon meeting with District Magistrates and Police Superintendents to take feedback on prevailing Corona pandemic scenario in the state, announced a series of measures in press conference, to combat the recent surge in
Covid-19 cases in second wave of Corona pandemic. Night
curfew would be imposed from 9 PM to 5 AM in Bihar to check the increasing number of Corona positive cases, he added.
"All schools, colleges, cinema
halls, zoos and parks will remain closed till May 15
while religious places including
temples, churches and mosques which were to remain closed till April 30 as per earlier decision, would
now remain closed till May 15", Chief Minister said adding that examinations of schools and college would not be conducted during this period. He, however, clarified that no restriction had been imposed on examination to be conducted for recruitments by various recruitment boards or Service Commission.
Mr Kumar said that maximum number of people attending marriage functions had been restricted to to 100 while earlier the figure was restricted to 200. Similarly, not more than 25 people would be allowed to attend cremations while earlier 50 people were allowed, he added.
Chief Minister said that all shops, markets and business establishments would now remain closed from 6 PM itself
while earlier timing for closure
was 7 PM. People would not be allowed to dine in restaurants but home delivery could be allowed till 9 PM, he stated.
